We are specialized in customizing vintage Cartier glasses but also customize vintage eyewear in general with our manufactured glasses, nose pads and temple tips, which are all handmade in Germany. The nose pads and temple ends which are exclusively produced for us are gold-plated and engraved with our logo. You can send vintage glasses to us, we will work them up, change the nose pads and temple ends, you can also choose the colour of the glasses and let the glasses define.

If you feel a little bit extra we also refine your glasses with diamonds, Smaragds or rubies.

Since we live in a world where individuality stands out means that each pair has its own story to tell so every eyeglass is also unique. The lenses are from Rodenstock which offers a selected series of 80s colours.

No. We sell our products as described and illustrated. We do not manufacture optical glasses.

Our vintage sunglasses are rarities, old originals from the 70s to 90s – and have never been worn. The search for these exclusive designer rarities (usually unique pieces) is extremely time-consuming and expensive. Moreover, it would be paradoxical to offer something particularly valuable at a reduced price.

As we only offer old originals (which are no longer produced), it is not possible to re-order accessories. Our sunglasses are at least 20 years old and have spent this time in different places.

So it is understandable that with time some of the accessories (such as cases, cleaning cloths, exchangeable lenses, certificates, etc.) have been lost.

This circumstance is also a sign of authenticity because it would be completely unbelievable that all vintage glasses from the 70s to 90s were still available with complete original accessories.

Although we almost exclusively offer unworn models, they can sometimes show small traces of storage. These are not a defect, but give the glasses an incomparable 'vintage appeal'.An old vintage model in a 'perfectly new, clinical condition' is, therefore, a contradiction in itself.

We have a huge network of suppliers all over the world. These contacts make it possible for us to find new vintage treasures again and again. Yet, often the search is also very laborious and time-consuming. You can find out more about the origin of sunglasses here.

Of course. All our vintage frames are of outstanding quality and thus suitable for glazing. You can have the demo lenses of our eyewear models as well as the glasses of our sunglasses replaced with optical lenses. Each of our vintage frames can also be converted into sunglasses. Additionally, each of our vintage sunglasses can also be used as normal prescription glasses. Since there are - as always in life - possible exceptions to 'the rule', you are welcome to contact us before buying, in case you are unsure.

We measure the height, width, and bow length of our glasses. We measure the width of the glasses from the inside of the left bow to the inside of the right bow, which corresponds approximately to the width of the face. For the height of the glasses, we measure the height of the complete frame.

Please remember that all models can be adjusted to your face by a specialist. The width of the glasses and the length of the bows have a corresponding margin. Most opticians provide this service free of charge. If you like the glasses you have bought - but they do not fit 100 Percent- we recommend you to visit an optician first.

Yes! We sell original glasses and sunglasses produced between the 1970s to 1990s. Our entire range of glasses is unworn and in great condition. We DO NOT offer new replicas - according to our motto: NO Retro, for us - but 100% Vintage instead!

However, some of the most precious vintage glasses have become so rare that we can no longer meet the great demand with completely unworn glasses exclusively. To make more customers happy, we recently started to offer a few 'second hand' models. In our case, 'second hand' is to be considered 'as good as new'. All glasses and sunglasses are professionally revamped by our master optician and shine like new. Often a layman does not recognize the difference between 'as good as new' and 'unworn'. Due to this, we always expressly point out in our article descriptions when a pair of glasses has already delighted a previous owner.

We ship within two working days after order or receipt of payment with Deutsche Post.
Within Europe you will usually receive your goods within 4 -7 working days, depending on the respective place of delivery. Worldwide, delivery will be facilitated within 7-10 working days.

In exceptional cases, various influences (storms, strikes, human weaknesses, customs, etc.) can cause delays in delivery.

We cannot guarantee the delivery time of 48 hours indicated by UPS Express in case UPS Express encounters difficulties on their side and thus delays in importing the shipment. Such delays may in rare cases be caused by random customs checks by or specific import authorities in the recipient country, despite the import documents and the goods being fully intact.

We ship all our international packages by registered airmail via 'Deutsche Post'. In the destination country, national service providers take over the shipment and deliver it to the recipient.

Occasionally and at regular times (public holidays) there may be delays in delivery. This is a circumstance that we cannot influence. It is also possible that customs authorities may hold a shipment for several days.

We, therefore, send all our packages fully insured and with a tracking number. Furthermore, we can initiate an official investigation after 10 working days. However, our experience shows that the packages are always delivered and we apologize for the extended waiting time - in case a delay may occur.

Vecchio Occio is a European company and accordingly trades in the Euro currency. For our American customers, we also indicate our prices in US Dollars. However, the US Dollar price is tied to the Euro, so that due to global currency fluctuations our dollar prices often vary as well.

We have done so for many years. Yet recently, we have noticed that our free information was used for commercial endeavors. That is why we no longer offer free consultations - neither by email nor by telephone. In the future, we will continue to produce official reports with detailed information and certificates. We charge 120,- Euro/hour.

Yes, we ship worldwide. Our partners are Deutsche Post and in some cases also UPS Express. Every delivery is sent registered so that your order can be tracked online at any time.

Such delays can in rare cases be caused by random checks by customs or other import authorities in the recipient country, without the import documents or the goods showing obvious defects.

We ship a huge number of pairs of glasses all over the world every year and the number of the ones not reaching their destination is very, very small. Judging from our experience, Deutsche Post and UPS are the most trustworthy logistics services - therefore we have increased our cooperation with these two companies. Having said that, the hard-working staff at UPS and Deutsche Post are only human, too – and are not excluded from making mistakes once in a while. Also, technical difficulties or higher forces (e.g. storms) can upset standardized processes and therefore attribute to the occurrence of mistakes.

Due to this, we ship all our vintage glasses insured - to be able to at least make up for a potential financial loss in case the 'worst-case scenario' occurs. For the emotional disappointment that occurs when your vintage sunglasses, which are expected with high anticipation, do not arrive, we can at best apologize.

For us, too, the loss of every single vintage pair of sunglasses is more than annoying, as there is a lot of passion and maintenance behind the procurement of our unique pieces. Also, we ask you to remain calm in case a not favorable case should happen, as we first have to allow our shipping partners to do their research fully.

Unfortunately not. Our sunglasses are very rare and unique. The quantity stated on our website corresponds to the actual stock. So it often happens that a sold model is no longer available afterward. Please write to us anyway: Maybe we can get this model again!

We ship our vintage glasses from Germany, and thus – the EU. Therefore, if you order from outside the EU, you may have to pay regular import fees (according to the customs regulations of your country).

Yes, then as now, CR39 UV400 lenses are used as sun protection, which is the best optician quality and does not simply disappear over time. Besides, our product range only includes a special selection of the best designer models of this particular period. All of these manufacturers have made a name for themselves because of their quality and have been awarded the title 'vintage'.

Also, there are certain manufacturers of vintage sunglasses that have achieved fame and glory in the 70s to 90s, especially because of their uniquely high lens quality. These include Ray-Ban, Persol Ratti, and Zeiss.

Glass qualities that are still unrivaled today.

The unworn condition of our frames does not necessarily imply that the demo lenses used are free of scratches or other marks. As the word 'demo lenses' indicates, these clear plastic lenses were used by the manufacturer of the frame for the purpose of transport protection and demonstration, and then replaced by optical lenses.

Today's idea to wear „demo lenses“ permanently was never intended and could never be expected beforehand. Thus, the lenses are neither scratch-resistant nor otherwise protected against signs of aging. Furthermore, they do not offer any UV protection or breakage resistance and can under no circumstances be recommended for permanent wearing.

The scope of supply encompasses the exact accessories that can be seen in the photos or the article description of the respective model.

If there is no reference to a case in the article description, the glasses will be delivered in a Vecchio Occio case.

Our extensive range of vintage glasses consists almost exclusively of rare, one-off pieces that can quickly be gone again. The maintenance of our inventory and the associated bookkeeping involves a correspondingly large amount of effort.

Therefore, we do not accept any reservations (including down payment). Besides, this gives every spectacle lover – no matter od you are a regular customer or a new customer – the option to purchase they wish. We generally do not implement payment by installments.

§3 Preise, Versandkosten, Zahlung, Fälligkeit

(1) Die angegebenen Preise enthalten die gesetzliche Umsatzsteuer und sonstige Preisbestandteile. Hinzu kommen
etwaige Versandkosten.

(2) Der Verbraucher hat die Möglichkeit der Zahlung per Vorkasse, PayPal,
Kreditkarte( Visa, Mastercard, American Express ) .

(3) Hat der Verbraucher die Zahlung per Vorkasse
gewählt, so verpflichtet er sich, den Kaufpreis unverzüglich nach Vertragsschluss zu zahlen.

§4 Lieferung

(1) Sofern wir dies in der Produktbeschreibung nicht deutlich anders angegeben haben, sind alle von uns angebotenen
Artikel sofort versandfertig. Die Lieferung erfolgt hier spätesten innerhalb von 10 Werktagen. Dabei beginnt
die Frist für die Lieferung im Falle der Zahlung per Vorkasse am Tag nach Zahlungsauftrag an die mit der
Überweisung beauftragte Bank und bei allen anderen Zahlungsarten am Tag nach Vertragsschluss zu laufen.
Fällt das Fristende auf einen Samstag, Sonntag oder gesetzlichen Feiertag am Lieferort, so endet die Frist am
nächsten Werktag.

(2) Die Gefahr des zufälligen Untergangs und der zufälligen
Verschlechterung der verkauften Sache geht auch beim Versendungskauf erst mit der Übergabe der Sache an den
Käufer auf diesen über.

§5 Eigentumsvorbehalt

Wir behalten uns das Eigentum an der Ware bis zur vollständigen Bezahlung des Kaufpreises vor.

Wenn Sie diesen Vertrag widerrufen, haben wir Ihnen alle Zahlungen, die wir von Ihnen erhalten haben, einschließlich der Lieferkosten (mit Ausnahme der
zusätzlichen Kosten, die sich daraus ergeben, dass Sie eine andere Art der Lieferung als die von uns angebotene, günstigste Standardlieferung gewählt haben), unverzüglich und spätestens binnen

übergeben. Die Frist ist gewahrt, wenn Sie die Waren vor Ablauf der Frist von vierzehn Tagen absenden.

Sie tragen die unmittelbaren Kosten der Rücksendung der Waren.
